This past Saturday, StonePoint brought a crew of volunteers to serve the community at the Summer Celebration, sponsored by Thomas Enterprises and Ashely Park.  It was an AMAZING success with over 20,000 people from allover Coweta County coming and having a great time celebration  the end of summer.

We even got written up in the Times-Herald…

“Thomas Tropea, senior vice-president at Thomas Enterprises, thanked the 100 volunteers who helped make the Summer Celebration a success….[Tropea] was happy to see all the local church participation, as well.  StonePoint Church had a lot of volunteers.”

You can read the full article HERE.

It was a great day for Coweta County, Newnan, and for Stone Point Church.  It was also a huge success because part of the proceeds for this event went to support the Boys and Girls Club of Newnan/Coweta County and the Community Welcome House shelter for battered women and children.

You don’t want to miss this weekend at StonePoint.
  • August 10 - StonePoint’s Two year Anniversary and  “Picnic in the Park” Event @ Carl Miller Park @ 5:00pm  There will be food, games, and fun for everyone as we celebrate our 2nd Anniversary.  There will be more information to come!!

7 Ways to be FEARLESS at StonePoint

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

There are many fear that we all share.  And we have 7 ways to overcome them here at StonePoint.

1. Attend Services every week.

Attending StonePoint services EVERY Sunday, will help you become more bold as you face the challenges of everyday life.  This Sunday (July 27), Scott Whitaker, our Pastor, will be talking about Fearless Fighter: MOSES.  If you miss a service, you can listen to the weekly podcast HERE.

2. Establish a new Friendship.

The best way to overcome any fear is the face it.  And it is easier to face any fear WITH someone, than being alone.

3. Participate in an Event.

Nothing makes you feel better about yourself than helping someone.  At StonePoint, we encourage you to step outside of your fears and engage in an event either at StonePoint or somewhere in the community.

We have a GREAT opportunity THIS Saturday, July 26, from 10AM to 2PM.  StonePoint is partnering with Thomas Enterprises and Ashely Park and bringing volunteers to support this event.  If you want to step out and volunteer, contact Christa Carrier HERE. We have several opportunities to serve, and this would be a great way to be fearless for the community!

4. Volunteer in a Ministry.

Fear keeps many people from being a blessing by serving in an area of ministry.  And when you don’t serve, you miss out an amazing blessings from God.  Whatever your interests are: Babies, Children, Adults, Technology, Office Support, or Music, StonePoint has an opportunity for YOU!  If you want to overcome your fear, and get plugged in to a ministry, contact John Donahue, StonePoint’s Connections Pastor HERE.

5. Get into a Home Team.

Fear of People is a powerful enemy.  It happens every day to all of us.  John Donahue wrote about overcoming your fear of people on his BLOG.  If you want to overcome the fear of people, and get connected to a Home Team, contact John Donahue, HERE.

The Fall Semester of Home Teams begin on August 17th.

Sign Up TODAY!!

6. Regularly pray for StonePoint Church.

It’s simple fact: Pray Changes Things.  Faithful prayer to God will change your life.  As you spend time in His Word and talking (and listening) to God, you will grow more courageous and your fears will actually become smaller.

7. Partner through Giving.

Putting your faith in God may seem easier than putting your finances in God’s care.  But when you partner with StonePoint through your tithes and offerings, God will do AMAZING things in your financial life.  And with every challenge that God helps you overcome, you will grow stronger in your faith, and less afraid of economic fears.

Look Ahead for July 21-27

Monday, July 21st, 2008

We had a GREAT Baptism Celebration on Sunday, 3 people were baptized.  If you missed it or the following Dessert with the Pastor, you missed a really fun time!  Let’s look ahead for this week:

  • We’ve begun sign ups for our Fall Semester of Home Teams at StonePoint.  For those of you who don’t know what Home Teams are, they are groups of 15-20 people, who meet weekly in people’s homes.  There is a lesson dealing with the previous weekend’s message, some teams are co-ed, some are for men or women only, some are old, some are young, but there is a Home Team for you!  If you would like to see what Home Teams are currently available, click HERE
  • July 26 - StonePoint is partnering with Thomas Enterprises and Ashley Park to celebrate Back-to-School, and they have asked us for some volunteers.  If you would like to help, please email Christa Carrier, our admin, at christa@stonepointchurch.com to let us know.   A portion of all the proceeds from this event will go towards Community Welcome House.
  • July 27 - Scott will be talking about Fearless Leader, MOSES.  The story of Moses is amazing, he was just a regular guy who allowed God to use his weaknesses and strengths to lead a nation.  We can learn from his successes and his failures: his lack of faith, insecurities, and fear, and how we can allow God to form us and change how we lead.  You don’t want to miss this weekend at StonePoint.
