Let’s rob hell…

Let’s rob hell of Coweta County residents!

I’m excited about what God is doing through StonePoint Church.  As long as God will allow me, I want to do everything I can to rob hell of Coweta County residents.  There are too many people right now in our county who are living apart from God.  In doing so, they’re missing out on the greatest life and also the greatest eternity.  God gave my family and I a very clear call to “Challenge people to discover, connect and grow in a relationship with Christ and other people.”

One of the most exciting things we get to do is invite people to take the challenge with us.  For those of you who call StonePoint your church, THANK YOU!  Thanks for doing this with us.  I’m reminded of Matthew 22:1-14.  “The servants went out and gathered all the people they could find both good and bad and the wedding hall was filled with guests.”  Who is God wanting you to invite this weekend?

If you’re still checking StonePoint out, this is what we’re about.  We’re about robbing hell of Coweta County residents!  Come to our next Baptism Celebration & Membership Class on March 2nd to learn more.

What does it mean to be a member of StonePoint?

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Our next membership class is March 2nd.  Right after we celebrate our baptisms we’ll offer people the opportunity to find out more about StonePoint and decide if StonePoint is the church for them.

We take membership at StonePoint very seriously.  At StonePoint when you become a member you give up your privileges!  You see we are doing everything we can for those who aren’t members.  Those who aren’t a member of the body of Christ and those who aren’t a member of the church.

When you become a member you’re deciding to take the challenge of reaching every person in Coweta County with the message of Jesus Christ.

You give up your privilege to have the music the way you want it.  You give up your privilege to having the next big program that suits you.  You give up your privilege to have church your way.  We do those things so that people far from God can discover, connect and grow in a relationship with Christ and other people.

So what do you get from becoming a member?  You get the opportunity to live on mission with Christ through StonePoint Church!  You get the opportunity to be used by God to reach people far from Him.  You get the opportunity to know that people in Coweta County will be changed because of your commitment to membership.  You gain the knowledge that you’ll be held accountable for what you do with the message of Jesus Christ.

Membership class is your opportunity to hear the vision, the expectations, the structure, and where we are headed.   You might decide this isn’t the church for you.  THAT IS OKAY.  That is WHY we do the class.  We want people who understand and partner in what we are doing.  If you can’t do that, that is okay.  We will help you find another church that is right for you.  Our goals is to be united on the mission that God has given us!

Five Disturbing Truths As To Why We Do What We Do

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Here are just a few reason as to why we do what we do here at StonePoint.  They’re disturbing, but true.

  1. Not everyone is going to heaven.  That might be stating the obvious for some of you, but for all of us that is something to consider.  Who do you know that won’t be there.  (Reference Matt. 25:31-46)
  2. More people are going to HELL than heaven.  If you think the judgment lines will be balanced the same number of people on both sides, you’re wrong.  Jesus was asked are only a few people going to be saved?  Check out Luke 13:22-25 to see what he says.
  3. Many who think they are forgiven are UN-FORGIVEN.  There are many Christians who think they’re saved and aren’t.  Do believe me, look what Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23.  There will be people who claimed to follow Christ but yet denied Him in the way they lived.  Simply put the didn’t take care of their neighbors as they took care of themselves.
  4. You will not get another opportunity after you die.  Once you die, that’s it.  No changing your mind then.  No begging for a way out.  It’s over!  Check out 2 Corinthians 5:10.  It’s about what happens in this life, not the next.
  5. This could be your last opportunity.  Not even Jesus knows the time of His return.  If he doesn’t know, you surely don’t know when your life is over.  I hate to sound doom and gloom but here it is in Matthew 24:42-44.

That’s why we do what we do.  We do it for the 80,000+ people here in Coweta County who are separated from God.  We’re about getting the disconnected - connected!  We’re about making him known to those who don’t know!  We’re about getting the Un-Forgiven — Forgiven!

If you missed this past weekend’s message you can go here and listen.
